Hi, I have a Mastercard from RBS with the view to purchasing a lot of cds/dvds on amazon/play.com/ebay. However, every 10 items I buy, I have to keep phoning up the customer service to get them to reset my ‘daily transaction limit’. Im wondering is there any way around this as its kind of annoying when you have to keep phoning up when I would rather just do it all in a one-r.
I understand this is a security procedure and last time I phoned I actually asked the guy if theres any possible way that they can remove this limit due to the amount of times Ive had to phone them.
He went on hold for a couple of minutes to ‘talk to his colleague’ and then came back and said it wasnt possible.
This is really annoying as Im getting diddled on phone bills to 0845 numbers every time I want to buy more than 10 items at once.
If anyone knows a way around this then Id be very interested to hear it.

Gosh I don’t think so. I believe that credit card companies do that to protect your safety. When people get ahold of your credit card information, they want to spend as much as they can before you catch them and cancel the card. Thus, a lot of companies will do this so that the problem is caught before it’s too late. It’s for your safety and theirs. I don’t think there is a way around it. It’s a nice feature, a little inconvenient at times, but nice nonetheless.
