Coupler for bicycle out there somewhere….?

I have your “run of the mill” 18 speed bike. I recently acquired a Trek Gobug trailer to tote my lil ones around in. Unfortunately my bike does not have a quick release (I think that’s what it’s called) to take the rear wheel off and attach the trailer. I need a coupler to attach to the frame of my bike, but I cannot find one for the trailer. Does anyone have any experience with this? What can I do?
What does a few bucks mean? Are we talking double-digits or less than say $20?

I couldn’t find a picture of the Gobug hitch, so I’d say your best bet would be to go to a good bike shop (preferably one that is selling these trailers) and ask them for that part. The hitches I know of will be available for any type of axle or frame shape.

The other suggestion – replacing the axle with a QR – might be a second option. Although, with a ‘run of the mill 18-speed bike’, a new rear wheel might actually be cheaper. It might even be cheaper than a different coupler for the solid axle (over here, a cheap 26″ rear wheel for a cassette or freewheel will cost 20…25 Euros, the Weber B kickstand-with-hitch, which is kind of last resort for a Weber hitch that can be mounted on any bike, will cost 60 Euros).
